Made from annodised Aluminium this handy gadget is a great additioin to any cue case.  I have personally used one of these for over 20 years now and its still as reliable as the day I bought it.
 
Using the spike array in the centre of the tool you can gently open up the fibres of the cue tip without removing material from the tip itself.  This will allow a better application of the chalk and results in an improved contact with the cueball.
